Still counting my blessings and naming them one by one! This is the 6th in the blog series and I owe it all to Father GOD, the driving force behind the ideas and gleanings!
When you are lost, it sometimes mean you have missed your way and you are out of range or on the wrong track. It can also mean that you are at a loss about what to do regarding certain situations in your life. Today, the Father wants to give us the healthy recipes that will restore us on the right track, ensuring that we are found again on the path of destiny and righteousness.
Having missed it, how do you and I find our way back on purpose track?
First, we must acknowledge our state and be truthful about where we are! We must be real to admitting that we are lost or at a loss. This is the first step to take and thereafter light will begin to shine on our path such that we can begin to retrace our steps. In acknowledging our sins, errors, lack of know-how and ignorance, we give room for heavenly intervention in our matters.
Scripture says in 1 John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
This means when we acknowledge our errors, when we admit that we have no clue to finding the right solutions, when GOD sees our helplessness and genuity, He comes to our aid.
Second, talk to GOD! Ask questions! Find GOD in the equation of happenings and circumstances! Speak your heart truthfully to Him! Ask Him for insight, wisdom and solution to your issues. Afterall, this is His injunction to us in Matthew 7:7 where He said by Himself: “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.”
Many times, we want to go it alone, all by ourselves but wisdom says to ask the LORD for direction even when we feel we haven’t been too good. Nothing should make us not to take advantage of the access we have to the Father! Asking helps us find our way back!
Thirdly, in finding your way back home and regaining lost momentum, you have to let GOD speak to you through His word and Spirit! For every situation of sin, lost ways and traction loss, there is a saving word from the scripture to address those issues. Scripture says in Hebrews 4:12 “the word of GOD is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.”
When you allow GOD speak to you via His word, as you employ the word by meditating on it and doing what it says, you gain the right perspective to your situation and you are enabled to rise up to do the needful!
Finally, when you have been saved and helped, when you have retraced your steps and are re-aligned rightly in GOD, the onus is on you to use your wealth of experience to help others out of similar circumstances so that together, we all win (because many coming behind are saved the processes and steps of those mistakes and pitfalls) and GOD is glorified!
This would satisfy GOD’s injunction to us via these words:
1 Peter 4:10
“As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of GOD’s varied grace.”
1 Thessalonians 5:11
“Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.”
