NO TO COSTLY MISTAKES

NO TO COSTLY MISTAKES

FAST FRIDAY FOR FIRSTBORNS FRIDAY 6TH AUGUST 2021 THEME: EXEMPT MY FIRSTBORN FROM COSTLY MISTAKES O LORD.

TEXT: Psalm 86:15-16 “But you, O LORD, are a GOD of compassion and mercy, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love and faithfulness. Look down and have mercy on me. Give your strength to your servant; save me, the son of your servant.”

A beautifully blessed day to all parent-intercessors. Happy new month of August. Today is the first Friday in the new month and we send our Judah forth to the LORD by giving Him thanks and praise for another opportunity to witness a brand new day and be a part of what He is doing! The gift of life and good health is not cheap! I am grateful to GOD and extend my worship and adoration to Him for keeping me and all mine, aren’t you?

Today we would be delving with more insights to a prayer we had prayed sometime in 2016. With a recent occurrence this morning, I believe the Holy Spirit is calling our attention again to it as well as opening our eyes of understanding to more regarding the issue.

In Exodus 13:2 Father GOD specifically stated: “CONSECRATE TO ME ALL THE FIRSTBORN, whatever opens the womb among the children of Israel, both of man and beast, IT IS MINE.”

Our firstborns are GOD’S PROPERTY! And that is why on this special day, Friday after Friday, week after week, we dedicate and commit ourselves to fasting and praying, waiting on GOD who owns our children for instruction as we consecrate them to Him.

From the very beginning, the firstborn has always had challenges. There have always been attendant deep issues that need to be addressed in the place of prayer. Many times, things are not the way they ought to be in the lives of these set of people.

Psalm 11:3 says: “If the foundation be destroyed, what can the righteous do?” Well, I always love to answer and say: “The righteous can fast/pray/take action in one way or another as led by GOD” but it is not permitted for the righteous to be complacent. We must ensure that on our watch, these destinies are preserved and nurtured to greatness.

~If our firstborns are not truly first in all facets of their lives, then why are they firstborns?

Today, let us PRAY that the LORD will by His mercy restore to every first born child all hitherto lost glory and to their rightful positions. Please see Joel 2:25.

Micah 7:7 captures the essence of what GOD is requiring of us every Friday as we wait on Him, fasting and praying for the lives and destinies of our firstborns. This scripture says: “Therefore I will look to the LORD; I will wait for the GOD of my salvation; My GOD will hear me.”

IN ADDITION TO THE ABOVE WHICH WE HAD DEALT WITH IN THE PAST, WE WILL BE PRAYING AGAINST COSTLY MISTAKES IN THE LIVES OF OUR FIRSTBORNS.

In Numbers Chapter 20, we see what the results of a costly mistake can be. Costly mistakes can rob us and our children of opportunites and promises. The mistake of Moses disregarding the simple instruction GOD gave to him and doing something else cost him access to the Promised Land despite having worked so hard and sacrificing a lot on the journey.

Esau was the firstborn son of Isaac, (at least he came out of the womb first before his twin brother Jacob) but he made a most costly mistake in selling off his birthright for a bowl of porridge. The blessing that ought to be for him was channelled to his brother just because he was not sensitive and lacked understanding of who he is.

Reuben, also the eldest son of Jacob made a costly mistake when he chose to lie with his father’s concubine thereby losing his preeminence and position. (See Gen 35:22; 49:3,4). He did not get a blessing from his father just because the mistake he made was too much of a deep wound that could not be easily forgiven such that the mistake came to haunt him at a destiny-moment.

If Reuben had walked in truth and reverence, he would have known not to do the abominable thing he did and if Esau had only seen and understood the truth of what he stood lo lose, he wouldn’t have parted with his destiny so cheaply!

BELOVED PARENT INTERCESSORS, LET US PRAY PASSIONATELY:

* That our firstborns and by extension our other children will not miss out of GOD’s best and promises for them due to errors in behaviour and carrying out instructions.

* That the spirit of error and mistake will not be compatible with or comfortable in our children’s lives and destinies.

* That our firstborns will always be guided by the spirit of truth so that they will be able to make right decisions always.

* That our first borns will not be stupid, neither will they sell off nor lose their birthright and rightful positions as first borns.

* That our firstborns will not for a moment lose their right-thinking ability.

* That they will not by themselves give up what they are meant to own, neither will they fall for any trick or ploy of the enemy to dispossess them of what rightfully belongs to them in the name of JESUS CHRIST.

* Pray that your firstborn will not lose his/her rightful position in the name of JESUS CHRIST.

* Pray that your firstborn will be one after the order of our LORD JESUS CHRIST – Victorious, Indestructible, One of a Kind and GOD’s jealously-guarded own!

As we look to GOD our Father today, may our faces and countenances (our requests to GOD) be lightened with answers of peace in the name of JESUS CHRIST-Amen! Our Father’s promises are sure! He will hear us from His holy place! Amen and Amen.

To our duty posts beloved parent-intercessors. May the LORD heed us as we seek His face with our prayers and fasting today Amen. Please remember to pray in the spirit as well as in your understanding as you meditate on and pray with these scriptures. Let us soak ourselves and all that the LORD has committed to us in these life-giving words.

Here’s to a beautiful day of unforgettable revelation, insights and encounter with the Father, His Son and His Spirit Amen!
