DELIVERANCE FROM ADDICTION

DELIVERANCE FROM ADDICTION

FAST FRIDAY FOR FIRSTBORNS FRIDAY 3RD SEPTEMBER 2021 THEME: NO ROOM FOR ADDICTION

TEXT: 1 Corinthians 10:13 – “No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And GOD is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.”

Blessings beloved parent-intercessors. Welcome to September. It’s the first Friday in the month and another day and privileged opportunity to bring our firstborns and by extension our other children before the Father.

Today we want to come as active watchmen to ask the LORD to exempt and deliver our children from every form of addiction. Whatever time of life our children are presently in, (whether babies, toddlers, teens, young adults or full grown adults) this prayer is relevant for their life journeys. For some, this will be banked prayers while for others, this will be a  timely prayer because of the season of life their children are in.

Addictions come in myriads of ways, and they are a form of idolatry. It is a dependency on external influences and this can range from alcohol to drugs, pornography or even binging on things such as food, movies etc. Any addiction is excessive dependence on anything other than GOD. Even relationships can sometimes be an addiction and so we want to ask the LORD to deliver our children from falling prey to any form of addiction in every season of their lives.

Let us meditate on and pray with the scriptures below:

Jeremiah 29:12-13 – “Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”

Pray: Father I come to You today on behalf of my firstborn and by extension my other children. I ask that You will show my children the mercy of exemption from addictions of any form in the name of JESUS CHRIST Amen.

Psalms 107:19-20 – “Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress. He sent out his word and healed them; he rescued them from the grave.”

Jeremiah 17:14 – “Heal me, Lord, and I will be healed; save me and I will be saved, for you are the one I praise.”

Prayer: Father today as parent-intercessors with a unified heart and voice, we bring every child that is assailed by any form of addiction before You. We ask that You will restore these ones to a sound state of all-round health (mind, body, spirt, soul, etc) in the name of JESUS CHRIST. Restore their minds and hearts back to You LORD Amen.

Psalms 30:1-3 – “I will exalt you, Lord, for you lifted me out of the depths and did not let my enemies gloat over me. Lord my God, I called to you for help, and you healed me. You, Lord, brought me up from the realm of the dead; you spared me from going down to the pit.”

Pray: Father, I thank You for giving my firstborn and by extension my other children the victory of not succumbing to and overcoming every form of addiction on their life’s journey.

Romans 6:5-6 – “For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his. For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin.”

1 Corinthians 6:12 – ““I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but I will not be mastered by anything.”

Pray: Father I pray that my firstborn and by extension my other children will know and understand that not everything is lawful for them to engage in. I pray for an understanding and discernment and discipline to stay away from addictive behaviours and practices in the name of JESUS CHRIST Amen.

James 5:15-16 – “And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the LORD will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.”

Prayer: Father we ask for mercy and forgiveness for our children who have erred by succumbing to the ways of the flesh and the world via any form of addiction. We pray Your healing and restoration for them in the name of JESUS CHRIST Amen.

John 8:36 – “So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.”

We decree freedom from all forms of addiction for our children in the name of JESUS CHRIST. No addiction will hold our children bound. If there be any child bound, we decree and speak forth the freedom of such a child from the clutch of these addictions in the name of JESUS CHRIST Amen and Amen.

Revelation 21:3-4 – “And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, ‘Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. “He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death” or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.’”

Pray: Father, I thank You for You will make my firstborn’s heart and life Your home and permanent residence. Thank You that by my prayer today, my firstborn and by extension my other children become Yours exclusively. Over them, there will be no sorrow and sighing, there shall only be good news and GOD shall be glorified in and through them in the name of JESUS CHRIST Amen.

To our duty posts beloved parent-intercessors. May the LORD heed us as we seek His face with our prayers and fasting today Amen. Please remember to pray in the spirit as well as in your understanding as you meditate on and pray with these scriptures. Let us soak ourselves and all that the LORD has committed to us in these life-giving words as we make our bold declarations.
